Welcome to TruePath Counseling Services! My name is Byron Vannoy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (#LH60900043).

Prior to opening my private practice, I worked at a local crisis line managing crisis calls, and in a community mental health agency providing individual and group therapy to clients with a wide range of chronic mental health issues.

Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy can be an empowering, integrative, and life-enhancing experience. I also believe the most effective therapy comes from establishing a strong therapeutic relationship in a supportive, non-judgmental, and shame-free environment, where it is safe for us to be honest and exploratory.

You are an individual with unique life experiences who possesses self-knowledge that can be cultivated to address current life challenges and enrich your relationship with yourself and others. This can occur by increasing self-awareness, challenging old beliefs, identifying unhelpful patterns, learning new skills, addressing emotional pain, and working toward a sense of balance based on your own set of values.

My job is help to facilitate this by asking questions and offering observations. My approach generally involves talking about your past and present experiences and behaviors that concern you, while honoring your position as the expert on your own life. My focus is on collaboration to discover what works for you during this process.
